“Formula of Success” NFP project was highlighted at an environmental forum in Primorye

The competition of school research projects “Formula of Success” was presented at the environmental forum in Primorsky Krai. It has become a good practical example of how environmental education and the improvement of eco-culture of schoolchildren are organized in the region.

“Formula of Success” is held in Nakhodka for the second year in a row as an NFP initiative supported by the city administration. It gives schoolchildren a unique opportunity to have scientists of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Science (FEB RAS) as mentors. Thanks to such cooperation, the children’s interest in science increases, and research outgrows the school level, as the best works will be presented at the regional and federal levels.

Support for environmental initiatives of schoolchildren is a priority of the NFP’s social policy and work for the future. “Formula of Success” helps find children who are active and interested in improving the quality of life in the city. It is these schoolchildren that make up the “staff reserve” of NFP, its future.

“The importance of this competition is undeniable. The competition allows both schoolchildren to gain new skills, and teachers to reach a new level of professional skills. In addition, this event highlights what kids find truly exciting. Most of the projects are related to the environment, because in the near future a large-scale environmentally safe production facility will be built in Nakhodka. Obviously, children associate their future with the city”, – Irina Korol, a methodologist of the information and methodological center “Razvitie” in Nakhodka, noted at the forum.

After the first competition, the winners successfully took part in the competition “My first step into science. Chemistry and Chemical Technologies”, announced by FEFU in 2021, and took almost all the prizes. The winners of 2022 competition take part in the regional scientific and practical conference of students, postgraduates and young scientists in natural sciences at FEFU and at the Federal Research Competition named after V.I. Vernadsky.

The “Formula for Success” competition has already become a tradition, and next year Nakhodka schoolchildren will again conduct their own research with the support of leading scientists in Primorye.
